According to DBS, nominal wages in Taiwan rose by an average of only 0.9% a
year from 2000 to 2010.

spots on Manpower MAN +3.75%’s third-quarter employment outlook survey. From
July through September, 43% of Taiwan’s employers expect to increase
payrolls, the global employment agency said. That percentage would be Taiwan’
s highest since the same quarter last year.

Taiwan’s service sector would lead the trend next quarter, reflecting a

came to $121.6 billion in 2012, a stat that has risen sharply since 2008 when
the two old Chinese civil war rivals lay aside political disputes to make
business-related deals.

 list along with Brazil, Panama, Peru and Turkey. It also tops the rest of
Asia, including the faster-growing China. Manpower’s employment outlook
bottom feeders: debt-worried Italy, Ireland and Spain.
